Pizol - 5 Seenwanderung

Fritzi and Philip came to visit us over a very hot weekend in July. Instead of just cooling off at the lake, we went up into the mountains, more precisely to the Pizol and its 5-lake hike. We had done it once before, but wanted to spend the night there in a tent. We set off with plenty of warm clothes, drinks and food. We took the cable car to the mountain station and then the first ascent was already waiting for us. We climbed up to the first lake, Wildsee. Despite our heavy rucksacks, we managed the ascent well. This was followed by a short descent to the Schottensee and our campsite for the night. After setting up the tent, it was time for a quick dip in the lake. The water was icy cold, but it felt good. Meanwhile, curious sheep inspected our two tents. We walked over the hills around the lake and took a few photos. For dinner, we sat down in the direction of the sunset. At the end of the day, we couldn’t miss a sip of homemade limoncello.

The night had been very chilly, not to say cold. Freddy probably needs a new, warmer sleeping bag after all. After breakfast in the morning sun with lukewarm tea and packing up the tents, we set off again. The first day hikers were already on their way. They were followed by Schwarzsee and Baschalvasee. In between, we went up and down again and again. One section followed a small plateau on which many stone towers had been built. At Lake Baschalva there were again some cows on the way. You had to be careful not to accidentally step into a cowpat.
At lunchtime, the last descent followed along a very earthy path to the Gaffia mountain station. Fortunately, there was fresh, cool water to drink from a fountain. Then, unfortunately, it was time to say goodbye to the mountain world and head back down to the valley in the summer heat.
